On March 15th, Bishop Chandrasekaran, Bishop of Trichy Tanjore Diocese, graciously accepted the invitation of Bishop Pathmathayalan to visit JDCSI. Accompanied by Mrs. Rosalind Chandrasekaran, Bishopcopina, Rev. Sudharsan, and Rev. Jacob Livingston, Secretary of CSI Erode Salem Diocese, Bishop Chandrasekaran arrived at JDCSI for a meaningful gathering.
In the evening of March 15th, the pastors of the Jaffna Christian Union came together for a meeting with Bishop Chandrasekaran and his esteemed team from 3-6 PM. They engaged in a thoughtful discussion on the commendable unity among churches in Jaffna, especially during the challenging times of the civil war.
Bishop V. Pathmathayalan presided over a Lenten meditation session, on the 16th of March where Mr. Joe Inparaj, Treasurer of JDCSI, provided insights into the socio-political-economic status of the diocese and shared its inspiring vision and future plans. Bishop Chandrasekaran then took the floor to deliver his Lenten meditation, focusing on the profound symbolism of the Cross and the essence of discipleship.
Bishopcopina Mrs. Mary Vijayananthini Pathmathayalam and Bishopcopina Mrs. Rosalind Chandrasekaran also graced the event with their presence, further enriching the gathering with their wisdom and grace.
It was indeed a blessed opportunity to strengthen fraternal relationships with the founding dioceses of CSI and to reflect deeply on the significance of Lent. Bishop Chandrasekaran’s Lenten reflection resonated with all present, urging us to find renewal and inspiration in our shared faith journey. Afterwards Rev. Sudharsan led a meaning Bible Study and Rev. Jacob Livingston, also shared a reflection to JDCSI pastors. The Lenten retreat was concluded by Bishop Chandrasekaran’s inspiring remarks.
