A Warm Beginning Filled with Worship and the Word

The morning started with joyful praise and worship led by the enthusiastic TDYA team. Their songs filled the venue with energy and a sense of unity among the gathered young people. It was a fitting opening that set the tone for what would be a meaningful and impactful three days.

Bishop Pathmathayalan offered the opening prayer and extended a heartfelt welcome to the team from Tirunelveli. In his address, he reminded the youth of the unchanging love of God and encouraged them to remain rooted in faith, even in a world full of challenges and distractions.

A skit titled “Still I Love You” (நான் இன்னும் உன்னை நேசிக்கிறேன்) was then performed, capturing the message of God’s unwavering love. This was followed by a moving theme message from Rev. G. Emilraj Moses Balasingh, who assured the youth that no matter their past, they are never beyond the reach of God’s love. A group activity, “இயேசு சொல்கிறார் நட”, closed the morning session, helping youth to reflect spiritually through action and movement.

Creative Expression and Spiritual Lessons in the Afternoon

The afternoon began with another skit, titled “இயேசுவே வழிகாட்டி” (Jesus, Our Guide), presented in a “cook with friends” format. Through humor and creativity, it highlighted how Jesus continues to lead and guide His followers, even in daily life. The audience connected well with the performance and its relatable message.

Following the skit, Mrs. Caroline Emil delivered an inspiring message centered on Peter’s story. She spoke about how Jesus lovingly dealt with Peter’s failures, reminding the young audience that God’s love is not conditional. The message brought comfort and insight to many who might have struggled with their sense of self-worth or past mistakes.

The afternoon session provided time for informal bonding and relaxation, offering space for the youth to reflect, share, and enjoy fellowship with one another. Activities were planned to help them build relationships and deepen their sense of belonging in the Christian community.

As the evening approached, Jaffna youth lit up the stage with a colorful and joyful cultural program. Songs, dances, and skits showcased local talent and celebrated the unity of spirit between the two dioceses. The day ended with dinner and a quiet time of personal prayer, allowing participants to end the day with God.

A Day of Insightful Teaching and Honest Conversations

The final day of the conference, May 14, began with morning worship led by Rev. Emilraj, drawing the youth once again into God’s presence. Mr. David John Francis then shared a devotion on the “3 Ts” – Temptation, Test, Train – guiding the youth to understand the importance of staying strong and spiritually disciplined.

A highlight of the day was the unique character study session led by Rev. Emilraj and Mrs. Caroline Emil. Using different shapes—circle, square, and curved line—they taught about biblical and political figures. The youth learned about Diana, Samson, Esther, and Joseph, alongside respected leader Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. The session made connections between faith, character, and leadership in a way that was both informative and engaging.

Later in the morning, a powerful Q&A session was held. Youth opened up about deep issues such as love and heartbreak, suicidal thoughts, addiction to mobile phones and substances, questions about interfaith relationships, and how to read the Bible or pray consistently. The panel including the Bishop, local clergy, and the TDYA team answered with grace and clarity, creating a safe space for healing and guidance.

The young people were visibly encouraged by the honest answers and applauded the open dialogue. For many, it was the first time they had heard spiritual leaders directly address such personal and relevant topics. This session proved to be one of the most memorable moments of the entire conference.

A Joyful Conclusion with a Message to Carry Forward

As the conference neared its end, a skit titled “Heaven and Hell” was performed, offering a dramatic and emotional illustration of choices and consequences in the Christian walk. The skit was followed by the closing message delivered by Rev. Emilraj, who called the youth to live as bearers of healing, hope, and restoration in their communities.

A surprise magic segment brought laughter and joy, lightening the atmosphere and showing that faith and fun can go hand in hand. This was followed by a final time of worship, during which the youth expressed their gratitude to God for the unforgettable experience they had over the three days.

In the closing ceremony, prizes were distributed to recognize the talents and contributions of various participants. The Bishop of Jaffna delivered the final address, thanking the CSI Tirunelveli Diocese for their partnership and encouraging the youth to carry the message of God’s love into their daily lives.

The event ended with a group photo session and a fellowship lunch. Hugs, smiles, and heartfelt farewells filled the room as participants returned home with renewed hearts, deeper faith, and a strong reminder that “Still, God Loves You.” This conference was not just an event—it was a spiritual milestone.
