In a spirit of unity and celebration, the Jaffna Diocese of the Church of South held its pastors’ family get-together today the 27th Dec 2023. The event commenced with a solemn holy communion service, featuring pastors’ spouses and lady pastors delivering a special song.
Distinguished guests included retired 3rd Bishop Dr. S. Jebanesan, along with retired pastors Rev. Dr.S.C. Arnold, Rev. Dr.E.N. Lawrence, and Rev. T.H. Vasanthakumar. These esteemed individuals were honored with shawls and presented with gifts. Notable attendees also included Diocesan Registrar Dr. Noel A. Vimalendren and his spouse, Mrs. Thamary Inbaraj, the spouse of the Diocesan Treasurer, and Diocesan Asst. Secretary Miss Gladis N. Muthurajah.
Adding a spiritual dimension to the occasion, the Bishop V.Pathmathayalan preached a sermon during the holy communion service. Pastors’ children showcased their talents with cultural performances, making the event even more memorable. Expressing their heartfelt greetings, the most senior pastor Rev. Dr. S.C. Arnold, Bishop Emeritus Dr. S. Jebanesan, and Dr. Noel A. Vimalendren added a warm touch to the gathering.
The get-together concluded on a delightful note with a fellowship lunch, fostering a sense of camaraderie among pastors and their families. This uplifting occasion not only encouraged and boosted the ministry of the pastors but also brought joy and contentment to the retired pastors in attendance.
