Samuel Alfred Devaratnam’s 100th birth anniversary was commemorated at Christa Seva Achiram Maruthanarmadam . The memorial service was followed by commemorative tributes. Dr. Senchotselvar Aaruthirumurugan and Rt. Rev.Dr.S. Jebanesan, Bishop emeritus of JDCSI were invited as special speakers. The keynote speech was delivered by Rt. Rev.Dr. V. Pathmathayalan, the Bishop of Jaffna Diocese of the Church South India. The greeting message was delivered by Rev. A. S. Thevagunananthan, the President of the Church of the American Ceylon Mission.
A memorial service was held at the cemetery of the Annans.
சாமுவேல் அல்பிரட் தேவரட்ணம் அவர்களின் 100வது பிறந்த தினம் மருதனார்மடம் கிறிஸ்த சேவ ஆச்சிரமத்தில் நினைவுகூறப்பட்டது. நினைவு வழிபாட்டைத் தொடர்ந்து நினைவுப் பெருமைகள் இடம்பெற்றன.
சிறப்புப் பேச்சாளர்களாக அறிவர் செஞ்சொற் செல்வர் ஆறுதிருமுருகன் மற்றும் தென்னிந்தியத் திருச்சபை முன்னைப் பேராயர் அறிவர் சு.ஜெபநேசன் அழைக்கப்பட்டிருந்தனர். தலைமை உரையினை தென்னிந்திய திருச்சபை பேராயர் அறிவர் வே.பத்மதயாளன் நிகழ்த்தினார். வாழ்த்துரையை அமெரிக்கன் சிலோன் மிஷன் திருச்சபை தலைவர் வண.அ.சா.தேவகுணானந்தன் அவர்கள் நிகழ்த்தினார்.
தொடர்ந்து துறவிகளின் கல்லறைத் தோட்டத்தில் அஞ்சலி செலுத்தும் வைபவம் இடம்பெற்றது.
