This prestigious event is scheduled to take place tomorrow, November 21, 2024, at the Parliament premises in Colombo.
The invitation extends a significant recognition to the Diocese of Jaffna, marking a proud moment for the Tamil Christian community. Bishop Pathmathayalan’s presence at this inaugural ceremony underscores the Diocese’s commitment to fostering unity and inclusivity within Sri Lanka’s democratic framework.
The ceremony will begin at 10:00 a.m., following the sounding of the quorum bell. The day will feature key parliamentary proceedings, including the election of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, and Deputy Chairperson of Committees. Hon. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is set to present the Government’s Policy Statement at 11:30 a.m.
